I love a good playlist as much as the next person, but most of the time I prefer to listen to a podcast while I’m driving. If you’ve had a hard time finding a good podcast to listen to or you’re just looking to shake things up, give some of these House of Vella-approved podcasts a try and let us know what you think in the comments below.
Podcasts can be great for getting yourself motivated, catching up on the latest pop-culture, or purely for entertainment. See what I’ve been listening to:
Best Motivational Podcast: Manifest with Tori DeSimone
I was a little surprised I ended up loving this Podcast as much as I do. I find myself binging hours worth of episodes on long drives and never getting tired of it. Tori gives great advice as she recounts her story of dropping out of college after her first semester and opening a spin studio at the age of 22. We love to see it. It’s truly inspiring to hear about a young entrepreneur’s journey. Tori gives her thoughts on different subjects relating to health and fitness and she also gives great book recommendations.
Best Entertainment Podcast: Sofia with an F
Did someone say controversy? Ladies, we all know about the big split, and I’m still a CHD fan...but you have to give Sofia with an F a try. Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion, but I love Sofia, even more so now than I did before. Major boss babe move starting her own company, Sloot Media. She truly is flat out hilarious and super relatable. I turn this one on when I really just need a good laugh or I’m anxious about something. Sofia and her producer, Alex (also her cousin), recount their best sex tips and hilarious stories. This is one of the few podcasts that I stay caught up with on a weekly basis.
Best Combo Entertainment + Motivational Podcast Combo: What We Said
Okay, if you’re looking for a listen that’s a little more family-friendly, but still extremely entertaining and informative, give What We Said a try. Best friends Jaci Mari and Chelsey Jade cover topics ranging from health and fitness, marriage, hilarious stories, and even some funny trivia episodes. They will literally have you lol’ing in your car. Not to mention Jaci is a photographer and entrepreneur and Chelsey is a health coach, so the motivation and advice are amazing.
Best True Crime Podcast: Crime Junkie
This podcast holds a special place in my heart because it’s the first podcast I ever got into. It’s another one that I keep up with on a weekly basis. Ashley and Brit are the most amazing story-tellers on the face of this planet and you can tell that every episode is well-thought-out and researched. Not to mention, they’ve founded a non-profit called Season of Justice, as well as donated to numerous other organizations that help solve cases or support families of victims in various ways.
Best Health and Wellness Podcast: Daily Meditation Podcast
If you’ve never given meditation a shot, I highly suggest it. I meditate listening to this podcast most of my mornings just after my coffee. I would be lying if I said I did it every morning, but when I stay consistent it truly makes such a difference in my mental state. The meditations usually range from about 5 minutes to 20 minutes so I just choose one that fits best into my schedule that day. My favorite themes are focus, positive thoughts/energy, and manifesting goals. However, they have topics ranging from loneliness, anxiety, fear, you name it. If you’re going to try this one out, give it a few days. Remember that meditation is a brain exercise and it takes time to learn to focus during meditation. Bonus: Journaling immediately following meditation can truly be so empowering. Highly recommend.
